High school diploma or equivalent is required
Customer service skills are required
Experience is preferred

The Payment Specialist is responsible for the daily posting of payment and adjustment transactions for electronic payments and the Hospital Lock Box. Daily work activities include but are not limited to: timely and accurate posting of payment transactions, timely and accurate posting of adjustments/denial transactions; maintaining organized payment/adjustment batches and supportive paper, EOB/vouchers/remittance advices, and scanning various documents.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Two to three (2-3) years experience in A/R management in hospital or physician group setting preferred. One (1) year of data entry experience using practice management system preferred. Must be able to work independently; knowledgeable in data entry and filing duties; able to use a variety of mechanical equipment such as copiers, computers, facsimile machines and postage equipment; communicate and/or process the knowledge, skills or abilities to effectively interact and are for the specific ages of patients served.
