DESCRIPTION

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all Aevenia's payroll. This position will be responsible for the accurate processing of a weekly multi-state payroll including compliance with Federal, State, and Local taxing jurisdictions. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the correct income and deductions, including regular and overtime hours, child support withholdings, subsistence pay, bonus pay, vacation, or any other deductions or additional pay. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for verifying that all timecards and wages match each employee records and that time is charged accurately to the projects to ensure accurate job costing. This position serves as a backup to other positions within the department as needed or at the direction of the Controller.

DUTIES

1.Payroll Processes - Responsible for entering, processing, and reconciling payroll related accounts as part of month end financial process.in compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and taxing jurisdictions; Responsible for processing Davis Bacon and Prevailing Wage payrolls as required for projects; Perform calculations and related deduction coding necessary. Process tax and deduction files and submit to vendors as necessary.
2.Customer Support - Delivers high level customer support to employees, managers and outside contacts to create a supportive and collaborative work environment in support of the company's team-oriented culture.
3.Weekly Payroll - Issue final checks and Resolve any check discrepancies with employees and payment issues with respective agencies; Provide employees and/or others with information as needed
4.Payroll Reports - Enter all payroll/timecards for all employees. Provide simple and comprehensive reports to management as requested; Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal use, including W-2's, and for submission to outside agencies as needed; run all payroll related reports necessary for quarterly filings, W-2's and other year end reports.
5.Other - Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial preparation and assigned projects as requested; Research payroll related issues and resolve as needed including; Serves as backup to other positions at the direction of management; and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree in accounting or finance related field.
  • 3 to 4 years of payroll experience, with preferable experience with multi-state payroll processing and Prevailing Wages.
  • Great Plains Dynamics experience preferred
  • Ulitpro Software Experience
