We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounting department, located at our corporate office in Hanover , MD. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Accountant will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for 1000+ employees, employee set up, maintaining various employee deductions, assistance in keying hours, calculating bonuses, retroactive pay adjustments and allowances, maintaining direct deposit information, reviewing check edits, cutting checks, and coordination of weekly check distribution. Additional responsibilities include preparation of various state and federal payroll tax returns, unemployment returns, union set up/reporting, prevailing wage reporting and the related payments. Assistance with other accounting functions as needed.

Successful candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience processing Payroll for multiple states
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Previous experience processing in-house payroll is a bonus
  • Knowledge of state and federal tax requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
