This position will work on the daily operational processes; researches and assists with testing the automated payroll and assists with time and attendance system problems; assists users with utilizing self-service, payroll and time and attendance system; assists with testing in related areas of the Human Resources/Payroll System.

Essential Functions

25% - Responsible for daily operational processes, calculates and processes off-cycle checks, check reversals, runs queries, verifies data (i.e., ASRS, payroll documents and procedures) and works with setup tables
20% - Performs tests and analyzes results to check for reasonableness, calculates and processes transactions and corrects inaccuracies (i.e., payroll procedures, processes and time and labor)
20% - Audits, researches and verifies system data for payroll/time and labor to insure accuracy
15% - Assists Human Resource Management System (HRMS) staff with testing, resolving and implementing research and audits for the accuracy of payroll and time and attendance processes
10% - Researches and responds to system problems and questions relating to payroll policies, procedures, computer applications and legal requirements for payroll and assists with training
10% - Researches, calculates and monitors 9/12 month pay and irregular calendar staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full payroll processing experience, including but not limited to taxes, garnishments, check calculations, overpayments, assignments (aka contracts) and assignment revisions
  • Experience with an automated payroll system and automated time and attendance
  • Experience with troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving daily and system problems
  • Experience working with federal/state laws and regulations and the legal aspects of payroll
  • Experience training and/or assisting end users
Desired Qualifications

  • Three (3) years or more of full payroll processing experience using a Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft payroll and time and labor processing
  • College degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting or other related field
  • Experience directing the work of others
Special Working Conditions

May be required to work extended hours during peak periods and to meet deadlines; may be required to view a computer monitor for extended periods of time; may be required to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
