An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field and one year of payroll experience; Or a High School diploma and three years of the required experience. Proficiency in Excel. Close attention to detail is required as well as strong customer service skills.
A Bachelor’s degree. Payroll experience in a grant based environment.
The incumbent will assist the Payroll Manager with the input and processing of information related to employee pay and deductions into HRI’s business system. Duties include the review of Personnel Appointment Forms (HRI-60) and Personnel Action Forms (60A) for completeness and accuracy, and entering information into the business system; setting up appropriate benefit deductions, union deductions, and direct deposit; completing information requests for employment verification, unemployment, retirement, and other wage requests; assisting with the preparation of pay checks and Electronic Funds Transfer, and printing payroll checks; responsibility for initial Time Records review and reconciliation of accruals; assisting employees with payroll questions; and other related duties as assigned.
