Role Description

Review and ensure balancing for the following, both on a quarterly and/or annual basis:

Employer’s Federal Tax Returns (941)

Federal Unemployment Returns (940)

State Unemployment Returns

State Income Tax Returns

Local Income Tax Returns

Employee Wage Statements (W-2)

Responsible for researching tax effect of newly offered benefits and earnings, while confirming that Humana remains in compliance with all federal, state and local tax legislations.

Act as key contact with other departments on tax related issues including but not limited to relocation, stock options awards and exercised stock options.

Contact appropriate Federal, State and Local taxing authorities to set up new accounts for tax payments.

Handle and respond to inquiries from associates related to individual tax withholding issues.

Respond to taxing agencies regarding various notices, and monitors to ensure issues are resolved.

General Ledger Activity:
Complete monthly payroll tax allocation entry. Assuring accuracy and proper resolutions of reconciling items.

Assist System Administration and Support Team to ensure monthly, quarterly and year end updates are applied to the system timely and accurately.

Participate in various projects as assigned.

Role Essentials

Associate or Bachelors Degree (Finance, Accounting, Math, or Bus. Admin. Preferred)

2-3 years finance and/or Employment Tax experience


Strong attention to detail

Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment

Knowledge of Federal, State and local tax regulations for multi-state Companies
