The Payroll Lead oversees the payroll processing functions for Vermeer.
This position w
orks in collaboration with Payroll Manager to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time within company policies and legislative controls.
The payroll lead
manages the collection, preparation and processing of tax documents related to all payrolls processed by Vermeer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of payroll for multiple sites.
Assist with the implementation of new payroll systems, conversions, or upgrades.
Maintain knowledge of “best-in-class” payroll technology, resources, and practice and technical knowledge regarding payroll work flow and data management.
Plan, implement, and manage payroll-related special projects working cross-functionally with other groups within the organization.
Serve as the subject matter expert in compliance and regulatory issues regarding payroll and employee data.
Oversee the periodic, quarter-end, and year-end tax reporting and reconciliation.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 4+ years related experience and/or training with Payroll; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7+ years related experience and/or training
with Payroll; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems
Experience with multi-state and global payroll processing preferred
Experience leading and developing direct reports
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively communicate and work with individuals at all levels of the Company.
Knowledge of payroll and employment laws
to report accurately and timely to multiple government agencies in several states.
Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers to meet internal and external demands.
Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills.
Decisions have a contributory effect on time management, etc., typically effecting day-to-day operations.
Ability to demonstrate judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
Ability to accurately compensate employees on a timely basis.
Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents on a timely basis that are required by state and federal government or critical to internal decisions.
Ability to coordinate projects and multi-task to meet deadlines.
