The Payroll Specialist assists the Payroll Manager and Senior Payroll Specialist in the processing of all payrolls and related systems and support.
Primary Job Duties:
Process payrolls - Includes data entry, reporting, journal entry preparation and posting, and related account reconciliations.
Maintain employee deductions, taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, PTO Balance, etc.
Responsible for maintenance of timekeeping system
Liaison between payroll and Student Employment Coordinator
Assist with employee/departmental inquiries regarding pay, PTO balances, tax issues, etc.
Assist with Paycor employee registration calls and inquiries
Assist Payroll Manager with Paycor report creation and maintenance
Other duties as assigned or required
Associate’s Degree required – Bachelor’s Degree preferred
1-3 years previous payroll and accounting experience required
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office products with exceptional Microsoft Excel skills required.
Excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, good organizational skills and the ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven atmosphere.
Will perform majority of position by computer; position also requires use of telephone, adding machine, problem solving skills.
