Primary responsibility for directing the operational areas of Payroll Department. Administers the payroll function for Kraton Polymers and supports all HR/Payroll functions regarding payroll information systems. Directs, supervises, orients/trains and evaluates staff. Establishes procedures and standards of operations. Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. Leads the advancement of technology to improve HR/Payroll operations across the system
: Perform final review and audit for all payrolls processed
: Ensures payroll is processed correctly and timely. Ensures data integrity and validation
: Acts as a team subject matter expert on payroll taxes and answers questions on employee pay checks
: Assists HR Director with 401(k) and BRP administration and timely filing of EEO1.
: Answer questions on Executive Staff pay checks
: Administration and processing of stock, relocation, Expatriate and Inpatriate transactions
: Assists external auditors as required.
: Reconcile and verify for timely processing of federal, state, local, school district and unemployment taxes for monthly, quarterly, and annual tax remittances before third party tax service processes. Responsible for completing and filing all payroll tax returns that are not supported by the third party tax service.
: Demonstrates the accuracy of tax filings upon request through self-auditing practices, well-defined processes, and balanced reconciliations for each payroll. Assists in the resolution of out-of-balance situations. Research and resolve issues between various taxing jurisdictions (local, state and federal). Ensures the accuracy of all tax withholding requirements and the Company is compliant to tax regulations and legislation. Set up and research new taxing locations and jurisdictions and set them up on the payroll system.
: Interacts independently with all taxing agencies, and third party tax service, and makes decisions to resolve all tax notices with the various agencies on behalf of the Company. Documents the interactions and resolution of issues on an on going basis.
: Leads year-end tax reconciliation process and the production and distribution of accurate W-2s meeting Federal and third party tax service deadlines.
: Assists HR in merger or acquisition activities related to payroll, tax processing and employee integration.
: Provides training to organization staff in the proper use of timekeeping system.
: Responsible for customer service functions and promotes a positive image of the Payroll Department.
: Prepares payroll, tax and regulatory reports and analyses as required.
: Recognizes and adheres to proper Segregation of Duties, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal audit controls. Responds promptly to audit requests and leads in the resolution of audit issues.
: Development and implementation of payroll business processes and work rules. Serves as backup payroll processer when needed including using available tools to analyze payroll results and taking proper steps to clear errors.
: Performs other duties as required.
: Experience with at least 7 years of relevant experience, including Payroll, Payroll Tax, Finance & Accounting or Audit
: Ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple responsibilities or projects and prioritize activities.
: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
: Ability to work independently, with very strong self-directed planning and scheduling skills
: Strong desire for quality, accuracy and operational excellence.

: Experience with multi-state employees, stock transaction, administration of expatriate and inpatriate employees, SERP, 401(k) and pension administration
: Intermediate crystal or query report writing experience.
: Experience in managing payroll operations of multiple legal entities/businesses in a multi-state environment is strongly preferred
: SAP implementation experience preferred
: ADP ProBusiness experience preferred
: CPP required
: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field
