The Payroll Tax Accountant is responsible for the accurate, complete and timely preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax returns for multiple corporations and states. This position ensures that payroll records and earnings are accurately reflected on W-2’s and that federal and state deposits are completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Payroll Tax Accountant manages payroll interface process and works with the Employee Service Center (ESC) and HR Technology to monitor and resolve tax related payroll issues.
A four-year college degree is required in a business or related field. Graduate work as well as either a CPA or Professional CCP is preferred. In addition, three to five years of payroll or tax related work including filing of payroll tax returns is preferred.
Strong accounting, financial analysis and computer skills are required. The candidate should possess good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Knowledge and skill in using personal computers, Excel, Word and other standard desktop software is required. Experience using Lawson payroll strongly preferred. Additional requirements include the ability to organize, prioritize and complete activities timely as well as to work under pressure and with firm deadlines.
