Job Summary:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is a nurse in an advanced practice in ambulatory, primary and chronic care settings who is responsible for providing care to a select group of patients/family members. The PNP facilitates the provision of optimum health care for these patients, family members in conjunction with other health care team members. This position is in our Hematology Department.

Job Requirements:
: Master’s Degree in nursing.
Licensure : Licensed to practice nursing and currently holds a certificate as a nurse practitioner in California.
Experience : 2 years pediatric nursing experience. One year nurse practitioner experience. Clinical nurse specialist with pediatric experience.
Preferred : Specialized educational preparation and/or extensive clinical experience. Specialized educational preparation and/or extensive clinical experience. Prior experience in pediatric Hematology preferred.
Knowledge/Skills : Computer skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team Ability to work independently, problem solve, and prioritize demands Case management experience Utilization management or experience with health care provider systems

Physical Requirements :
Sit: Up to 3 hours/day
Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours
Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours
Reach: Up to 6 hours
Rep Use of UE/Gasp: Up to 6 hrs
Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs., over 25# with assistance or equipment
