Summary of Duties
The Peer Review Coordinator is responsible for providing operational oversight for the hospital’s Medical Staff Peer Review System to ensure it is instrumental in identifying, tracking and improving processes to resolve clinical performance and/or unprofessional conduct issues in a manner that promotes education, improvement, and patient safety. The Peer Review Coordinator collaborates with the Medical Staff leadership, the Director of Quality Resource Management and other departments to improve the quality of care to the patients we serve.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years hospital experience required; experience in peer review, risk management, or case management preferred.
Current California Nursing License
Must possess Current American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Certification
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize the following equipment / software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of basic skills of leadership, management, teaching, communication and patient care in general nursing
Works well with others in a team-orientated environment, including support of other co-workers’ job duties in a manner that further advances the goals and objectives of the whole organization
