State Certified as a Peer Counselor, to provide support, advocacy, resources, and psycho-education to adults or parents of children enrolled in SCRSN and receiving ongoing mental health treatment. In recovery from mental illness and/or a parent of children with serious emotional disturbances.

Job Description Summary

Provide individual and group engagement services to adult clients and parents of child and adolescent clients who are having difficulty participating in services.

Identify barriers to individuals participating in services and work with them, their support systems and agency staff to address these.

Assist in the development and facilitation of Motivational Engagement Groups.

Work collaboratively with MHCPs to develop treatment plans and/or crisis plans for consumers struggling to engage in treatment.

Refer at-risk consumers to appropriate resources, staff and other supports.

For individuals who are at low risk and not at a point of being ready to engage in services, link them to other services in the community as appropriate.
