DESCRIPTION

The Pension Data Administration Analyst assists within a business user environment and works directly with Milliman and/or technical staff in the design, analysis, transformation, mapping, loading, documentation, and reporting of Pension Plan related data elements during the System Development Lifecycle for Milliman's defined benefit clients. Example projects the DAA will be involved in include new client implementations, ongoing client support and enhancements, expansion of services, and DB legislative updates.

The DB Data Administration Analyst works in a team environment within their department and with other Milliman teams, possibly across office locations, and with a moderate amount of interaction with clients.

DUTIES

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and execute routines to convert client data using SQL, VB Scripts, and other technologies as necessary
  • Responsible for the full execution of data conversions, including mapping, extraction, transformation, and validation
  • Collaborate with project management team, business analysts, and clients to analyze and conform data to meet business rule and ensure accuracy of data
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client data issues in test and production environments as needed
  • Tune and optimize database objects, queries, and scripts for speed and efficiency in support of data conversion, conversion utilizes, and various data related projects
  • Design, implement, and maintain new and existing database objects including table indexes, constraints, stored procedures, and user defined functions in support of data conversion utilities and projects
  • Perform various database administration tasks (back up, restore, shrink, etc.)
  • Conduct audits to validate client information and payroll data
  • Identify, analyze, and assist in executing improvements to any processes and procedures
  • Keep up to date with MS technologies and DB concepts
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of data administration experience, defined benefit outsourcing experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficient with SQL and Visual Basic; experience with Excel and Access is a plus
  • Experience with Relational Database Architecture is a plus
  • Skilled in information recordkeeping systems and the integration between multiple platforms
  • Ability to work independently or within a team and manage own work
  • Data analysis skills from source data file to target database
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to consult with business users
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
