The Pension Plan Analyst provides administrative support, analysis and consultation to pension administrators, actuarial associates and actuaries, and clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acquires knowledge and stays abreast of applicable pension law
  • Provides consulting on retirement plan design issues
  • Provides support to the actuarial group
  • Inputs/imports information into various software applications
  • Reconciles assets on retirement plan trust accounts and prepares financial statements
  • Reconciles census data
  • Calculates employer contribution according to designated allocation method
  • Completes annual compliance administration of defined contribution plans including: - ADP/ACP testing - Non discrimination testing - Coverage testing.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual retirement plan valuation reports
  • Prepares government forms
  • Maintains and develops client relationships
  • Prepares benefit packages for retired and terminated employees of defined benefit plans
  • Assists in defined benefit and defined contribution special projects
  • Performs other tasks and duties as reasonably requested
CONTACTS:
  • Regular, routine contact with employees of the company
  • Occasional contact with managers to deal with moderately complex problems/issues
  • Considerable contact with clients to give and obtain information ranging from routine to moderately complex in nature
  • Occasional contact with officials and/or managers of outside agencies or companies to give and/or obtain information of a moderately complex nature
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Mathematics preferred
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Must obtain and preserve required licenses/certifications/designations
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
