Northeast Parent & Child Society’s Children's Home is a state-of-the-art 60 bed residential center designed to respond to the needs of abused, neglected, emotionally disturbed and behaviorally troubled adolescents (both male and female) ages 11 to 18. The program's immediate goal is to help children and their families stabilize and remediate the safety and risk issues which brought the child into residential care. The program then provides a safe, structured environment for the youth while assisting the youth and his/her family to acquire the necessary coping skills and social skills needed to return to a less restrictive level of care.
The NPCS Residential Children’s Home invites application for Per Diem Therapeutic Support Workers.
The successful candidates should have knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human behavior, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; knowledge of principles and processes for providing therapeutic and personal services - including needs assessment; meeting quality standards for services and knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; some college or an Associate’s Degree preferred. Experience working with at risk youth preferred. Driver’s License; TCI Certified; Trained in CPR; demonstrated ability to form therapeutic alliances; effective communication skills with at risk youth are required. Must be 21 years of age.
