This is a professional position requiring finance, analytical and process improvement support. interpersonal relations, exceptional analytical and communication skills and the ability to effectively engage all levels of management staff and employees. This position coordinates and performs professional and confidential special project functions and assists the Chief Financial Officer with major process improvement projects citywide. The Senior Analyst of Management Consulting will provide analysis and support to improve processes and process flows, oversee and manage the flow and exchange of information to match systems capabilities, streamlines interactions with key constituents and facilitates business continuity initiatives on behalf of the CFO. Acts as a point of contact between top management and other department staff. Provides advice, oversight and guidance to projects of high importance. The position requires the use of considerable judgment and independent action and may include the collaborative efforts of others.
Examples Of Essential Duties:
Identify and support process change within the DOF and citywide.
Provides recommendations and support for the implementation of major process improvement projects
Perpetuates the development and utilization of process improvement tools throughout the organization.
Coordinates and liaises for Contract Compliance tracking
Supports Departmental RFP Preparation
Assists Director in the development and distribution of monthly financial reporting, business continuity plans and other special projects
Demonstrates understanding in a variety of the concepts, policies, practices, and procedures. Relies on departmental guidance and experience to plan and accomplish goals.
Exercises facilitation skills to developing and coordinating projects on behalf of the Finance Organization
Supports the Director in facilitating good working relationships with various public offices, including the Mayor's office, Atlanta City Council, federal officials, and local jurisdictions.
Crafts and delivers both written and verbal presentations as required. Must be able to communicate with tact, judgment, empathy and energy.
Planning and Organizing
Utilizes organization guidance and work experience to plan and accomplish project goals utilizing strong organizational skills.
Ability to listen to extensive discussions and provide a concise summary of all pertinent data, including all legal and historical aspects.
Ability to read and prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, budgets, trend analysis etc. using prescribed formats and assuring that such documentation is correct in form and style.
Marginal Job Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance from an accredited institution or a related field required. A Master’s Degree is preferred or a combination of at least eight years of progressive experience with process and change management, strong analytical and facilitation skills. Ability to provide objective input and provide a positive means/method for change. Knowledge of Oracle financial modules and city government operations is a plus.
