The mission of KIPP Delta Public Schools is to create and support schools that empower students from underserved communities to develop the knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary to pursue a college education and a life of value, joy, and integrity.

We are a growing network of schools offering a free, college-preparatory education to children in the Arkansas Delta. Across our four schools in Helena and Blytheville, we currently serve over 1,120 students and 80 alumni.

Position Overview:

The Performance Evaluation Manager will serve as a critical member of the Leadership Development team, as they will be charged with establishing the procedures, systems, and effective implementation of a teacher appraisal system for the 2013-2014 school year. Additionally, the Performance Evaluation Manager will work to analyze academic and school performance data in order to identify trends, improve practices, and inform critical decision-making. The Performance Evaluation Manager will report to the Managing Director of Academic Services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Implement a newly established teacher appraisal system across all KIPP Delta Public Schools:

Establish and communicate clarity around all procedures and systems pertaining to the teacher appraisal system

Work with school and regional leaders to ensure that the teacher appraisal system is being implemented with fidelity, intervening to provide adjusting feedback when necessary

Work with school and regional leaders to build comfort and familiarity for the teacher appraisal system amongst all KIPP Delta teachers and staff

Provide reporting that organizes teacher performance data in a manner that informs school and regional leaders in their effort to improve instructional practices and student outcomes

Provide support for student assessment across all KIPP Delta Public Schools:

Serve as state testing coordinator, with responsibility for ensuring that all state tests are administered in a manner that is fully compliant with state testing procedures

Manage the implementation and administration of NWEA’s “Measure of Academic Progress” testing across all schools

Partner with school leadership teams to support interim assessment procedures, data analysis, and subsequent action planning

Support the leadership development team’s efforts in coaching and professional development:

Lead professional development for teachers, leaders, and staff in areas pertaining to performance management and evaluation, data and analytics, and general instructional practices

Provide feedback to teachers and leaders through regular, formal reporting structures

Champion key findings from analysis and influence school and regional leaders to act upon these results

Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to incorporate student outcomes into the performance management and evaluation process:

Work with the Data and Analytics team to establish systems that allow for the efficient the use of student data in all aspects of performance management and evaluation

Provide school and regional leaders with regular, formal reporting that incorporates student data with other elements of performance management and evaluation

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree required (advanced degree preferred)

· At least 2 years of professional work experience preferred

· Demonstrated ability develop technical expertise with software

· Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting

· K-12 education and/or direct teaching experience a plus

· Demonstrated success providing superior customer service

· Organized planner and project manager with proven ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritize effectively, and deliver for multiple stakeholders on deliverables and deadlines
