The purpose of the Performance Management Group is identify, prioritize, plan and execute on company-wide performance management process initiatives to sustainably improve the way Watco Companies, L.L.C. operates.
This is a newly formed group that will:
Identify areas of improvement and areas of best practice across the organization
Prioritize the initiatives to obtain the most sustainable value and return, gain agreement from the Steering Committee
Plan the initiatives and projects
Execute and train stakeholders on how to implement and sustainability benefit from initiatives
Follow-up and report on the sustainability and effectiveness of initiatives
Continuously improve Watco's Performance Management Process
The Analyst - Performance Management Group is responsible and accountable for certain assigned performance management initiatives in direct support of the Performance Management Group's purpose. This individual will work both individually and with other Performance Management Group team members and operations and support service personnel to make meaningful and sustainable system-wide improvements.
The Analyst - Performance Management Group is successful if they meet or exceed expectations in these general areas while driving the initiatives described above:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as requested or required.
Providing a high level of customer service, continuous support and proactive involvement to leadership and peers on reporting and analysis of metrics
Conducting business-specific research, analyzing data, interpreting results and making recommendations
Meeting customer needs by providing sound service and responsiveness when performing root cause analysis for understanding performance metrics
Consistently anticipating and delivering against a defined project and action plan
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Team Members at all levels of the company
Offering ideas and suggestions to improve moderately complex work processes and projects
Providing advice, education, training and encouragement to others
Providing a high level of customer service, continuous support and proactive involvement to leadership and peers
Actively seeking ways to build challenges and add value within scope of assignments -
Contributing to solutions by taking initiative to develop alternatives and recommendations -
Utilizing best practices and techniques for addressing customer concerns
Writing, or assisting with getting written, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Local Operating Procedure documents relating to policy and procedures
Actively representing the company's interests
Direct point of contact for information requests, questions, or comments concerning assigned responsibilities
Proactively communicating with customers to anticipate and solve problems
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience
4-8 years of specialized process improvement experience
4-8 years of project management experience
Certificates and Licenses:
Some combination of professional certifications related to Project Management, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Training, Process Improvement, and Quality Systems highly desired

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to work in various environments generally to include railroad facilities, railcar repair facilities, port environments, terminal and transloading environments, and general office environments 100% of the time.
Must be able to sit at desk to perform duties 60% of time.
Must be able to use hands to finger and feel keys on keyboards and calculators 70% of time.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms to file, grasp, and maneuver paperwork; and/or reach and operate personal computer and office equipment 100% of time.
Must be able to stoop or kneel to reach file drawers, cabinets 30% of time.
Must have close vision and ability to adjust focus to operate personal computer, calculate, compile and enter information from various sources 80% of the time.
Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with co-workers, workers in other locations, business associates, and management 100% of time.
The employee in this job is required to exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally.
Must be able to travel up to 25%-50%
