Accountable for developing and driving financial and operational results in all products of the facility. Responsible for measuring, maintaining and managing key data elements as well as promoting, sustaining, and training the facility in the operational excellence initiatives. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Drive Corporate Operational Excellence component (LEAN Program, Quality, ZDS, Smart Solutions and applicable training) in a facility.
Manage the operational excellence initiatives by providing leadership and direction in the delivery and achievement of department and company goals and objectives from conception through implementation.
Develop organization, technical process, and program strategies that optimize performance and efficiencies of the facility.
Train the facility in operational excellence methods that will improve productivity, efficiencies, and overall quality of product.
Collaborate with corporate operational excellence leaders and other station performance management employees.
Perform analysis on key metrics/processes, monitoring tools, and recommended Kaizen process improvements that maximize efficiencies.
Create local work instructions, procedures, training material and presentations as needed.
Drive corporate performance standardization enhancements in both domestic and international business segments.
Create performance measurements and enhancements to key performance indicators for specific organizational function(s).
Ensure LEAN benefit results are achieved by the facility.
Communicate measurement standards and key performance indicators to all members of the organization.
Monitor and verify the integrity of the data to be reported.
Follow established policies and procedures; determine and recommend potential enhancements.
Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities though active recruitment, training, and quality management activities.
Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
Qualifications
Summary of Experience and Education
High School Degree or GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or a related field preferred.
Minimum five years experience in progressively responsible roles in a similar environment.
Minimum four years industry experience preferred.
Minimum three years supervisory or managerial experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeable and experienced in working with LEAN Programs, Quality, ZDS, Smart Solutions and applicable training for a facility.
Demonstrated understanding of key transportation concepts and key performance indicators (miles, utilization, MPG, etc).
Knowledgeable and experienced in the analysis of key metrics/processes, monitoring tools, including Kaizen processes.
Knowledgeable of warehouse operations and freight/logistics optimization.
Functional understanding of supply chain processes, and third party logistics.
Experience auditing controls in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing operations.
Prior management experience and knowledge of business planning methodologies, competitive analysis, and strategy development.
Experience with, or ability to understand internal and external implications of solutions proposed, potential areas of risk, and methods to limit liabilities.
Ability to analyze moderately complex procedural requirements.
Strong quantitative and integrative analytical skills.
Ability to generate error-free reports, charts, and graphs.
Requires strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and effective time management skills to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner.
Ability to follow established policies and procedures; determine and recommend potential enhancements.
Ability to develop and document processes, and procedures.
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job related software applications.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Licenses and Certifications
CEVA LEAN Expert certified or nine (9) weeks Change Agent experience required; or
Or ZDS experience required.
