Peri Anesthesia Nurse

Position Summary:
Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing, planning. implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients during their shift. Is responsible for meeting the standards required by AANA, AORN, JCAHO, GHS and other regulating agencies for managing the patient's needs. Ensures active communication between him or herself, the patient, other staff, supervisors, physicians, and other hospital departments. Processes information on the Center's Health Information System as required in performing job responsibilities. Basic EKG interpretation and PALS within 6 months. An RN with experience will receive a competency based preceptorship and complete competency validation.

Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. Minimum one year experience as an RN. BCLS certification. ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire date. Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing appropriate to the practice setting.
