Basic Function: The Perioperative Supply Assistant I is responsible for the following day-to-day activities in the department of Perioperative Services: procurement, distribution, and adequate inventory level of medical supplies; ensures that the Perioperative Supply Specialist is kept informed about supply availability, product substitution, and supply backorders; monitors par levels for medical supplies and as necessary makes suggestions for changes; and works in a proactive manner to assist the department with the daily activities of supply ordering and processing.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Skills): Must be a high school graduate - prefer incumbent to have two years experience receiving, storing, issuing and accounting for inventory in a health care setting.
Other Requirements: Must possess computer skills (GroupWise, MS Office) and be able to learn/use Ipath , PMM, and Nuvia. Candidate must have the ability to work with minimum supervision, multitask, and meet requests driven by the surgery schedule. Must be able to work flexible hours to meet demands of the surgery caseload.
