The City of Baytown is seeking an individual who possesses exceptional customer service and multi-tasking skills. This role will provide frontline support to citizen inquires and requests for permits. This role requires an individual who is great communicator and preference will placed on those with previous experience in an inspection/construction related field.
JOB SUMMARY AND PRINCIPAL DUTIES: This is an exciting and rewarding position with the City of Baytown, part of the dynamic Sugarland/Houston/Baytown metropolis acknowledged as one of America’s top 5 regions for jobs. This role will require the ability to clearly communicate and provide exceptional service in handling citizen and internal requests. An individual in this role will issue and maintain permits, collect permit fees, prepare work orders for inspectors, document citizen complaints for escalation, letter preparation and decision making within scope of responsibility.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Two years customer service or general office experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate computer processing skills in Microsoft Office.
ICC Certified Permit Technician.

Attendance is an essential function of this position and in the event of an emergency this position may be required to work in order to perform essential services needed to sustain City operations.
SALARY: $14.00 – $16.47/hr. (DOQ)
