SUMMARY
Possesses strong sales skills to execute sales calls and follow up visits. Works directly with Commercial Lender to solicit, develop and service a variety of depositors. Develops and manages consumer loans, operates with limited credit authority. Opens new accounts, explains and refers customers to appropriate areas of the bank including investments, trust, mortgage and other financial services. Frequently resolves problems regarding customer accounts and answers customer inquiries as necessary. Keeps informed of changes in bank services and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : (Other duties may be assigned.)

Possess in-depth knowledge of retail services and products. Understand competitors’ products/services and the advantage of First Interstate Bank.

Develop a general knowledge of business, banking and current economic/market conditions.

Participate in branch sales calling effort. Plan, organize, and execute two calls per week with Commercial Lender or other employee as necessary. Follow up on sales opportunities/prospects/referrals to and from other bank departments.

Expand customer base through recognizing sales opportunities and effectively cross selling bank products and services using First Interstate Bank’s service and sales program.

Interview consumer loan applicants, reviews loan applications, use of lending program to determine approval or denial of loan request. Prepare loan documents and closes loan. Develop an awareness of loan monitoring and collection procedures.

Counsels customers on various types of financial services, originates and services deposit accounts and other related retail products.

Provide superior customer service and complaint resolutions, follow up on complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-4 years of financial sales and service in new accounts and consumer lending and/or equivalent job experience. Computer competencies, including Microsoft Office, loan software, intranet and internet.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively respond to questions from co-workers, customers and the general public. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
