Provide superior service to customers in a professional manner. Open new accounts, explain and refer customers to appropriate areas of the bank including investments, trust, mortgage and other financial services. Develop, manage, and maintain consumer loans in accordance with established loan policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Possess thorough knowledge of retail products and services in order to sell them to customers of First Interstate Bank. Understand the features/benefits of FIB products/services compared to our competitor’s products/services.
Establish rapport and build relationships with customers using First Interstate Bank’s sales process and techniques to effectively cross sell bank products and services.
Effectively interview customers to obtain information and explain or refer all financial services products available and appropriate for business and consumer customers. Originate all deposit accounts and related services including business and personal checking and savings, certificates of deposits, individual retirement plans, ATM or check cards, direct deposit and safe deposit boxes.
Interview consumer loan applicants, review loan applications, approve or deny loan requests. Prepare loan documents and close loans.
Maintain delinquency and loan charge-offs within acceptable levels.
Ensure compliance with consumer regulations through proper disclosure.
Develop new business and maintain existing business.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in community and civic organizations to promote goodwill, generate new business and support FIB sponsored events.
Perform other banking functions as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to four years of financial services experience in new accounts and consumer lending and/or equivalent job experience preferred. Experience profiling clients competencies including Microsoft office, loan software, intranet and internet.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Credit Life & Disability Certification is preferred, but required to be obtained within 6 months of employment. Medallion Signature Guarantee Certification; Notary preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Public speaking experience in group settings which may include customers, other employees of the organization and in public forums.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute interest rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization and procedural direction exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
