Team Leader PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATOR I (2366)
SALARY: $43,725 - $69,999

DESCRIPTION: The Team Leader position is responsible supporting and administering the Human Resource function at the State Highway Hanover Complex. This includes but is not limited to Human Resource functions such as policy application; personnel record management; processing personnel transactions; advising management about Human Resources policies and procedures; preparing recruitment materials; preparing and documenting all classification materials; advising and processing employee-employer relations issues; managing, developing and submitting all selection plan information; and other duties related to Human Resources. This position is also involved in training, organizational development, mentoring and rotational programs. The Team Leader supervises two (2) direct reports and has 6 indirect. This position needs to be available and on call 24 hours/7 days a week to assist all management and employees in any capacity that involves the well being of its safety sensitive and essential employees. The current vacancy exists at the State Highway Administration (SHA) in Hanover, Maryland in Anne Arundel County. The eligible list produced from this recruitment may be utilized for this position only.
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of professional personnel work in the areas of either job analysis, job evaluation, salary administration, employee recruitment and selection, employer-employee relations, personnel program evaluation, or personnel policy formulation. This experience must have included four (4) years in personnel transactions, employee-employer relations, classification and compensation, and/or recruitment.*
The ideal candidate will have professional experience supervising employees.

1. Thirty graduate semester credits from a college or university in the fields of personnel administration, business administration, public administration, statistics, tests and measurements, or psychology may be substituted for one year of experience.
2. Paraprofessional or professional personnel management work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
