This position is located at Walter B Jones Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center in Greenville, NC. Position is the Health Benefits Representative and Recruitment Coordinator for the Center. This position is the first contact for the Human Resources Office. This position will be responsible for the administration and implementation of the NC Comprehensive Benefits program at Walter B Jones ADATC. This would include the State Retirement/Disability; NC Flex program; Shared Leave Program; Supplemental Insurance Program; State Health Plan and Family and Medical Leave Program. new hire orientation, worker's compensation program. The position will enter and track all actions in BEACON for payroll purposes. Position verifies state service, credentials, longevity, coordinates service awards program, drug and alcohol and criminal record checks, answers phone, receives and screens all mail, performs maintenance of personnel records and retention. Position is also responsible for position postings and application screening through the Neo-Gov applicant system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
This position must have: Sound knowledge of benefit administration, including worker's compensation and NC Retirement, short and long term disability programs, ability to identify and explain benefit options and make recommendations within established guidelines; ability to gather routine information and complete standard reports; ability to explain the application of DHHS and Office of State Personnel policies and procedures using sound sources for employee understanding; ability to work independently and effectively ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail; ability to adapt to changing priorities and to meet deadlines; word processing and spreadsheet experience; and sound recruitment and screening knowledge; working hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work including at least one year of experience in administering a personnel program(s) for a work unit or in a personnel office, preferably related to the area assigned to the position; or graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. .
Preference will be given to candidates with BEACON (SAP) and NEO-GOV experience.
