Support the credit risk requirements of Citi”s expanding oil and gas corporate and commodities business. The business is expanding the product coverage necessitating increased resources by Risk Management/Business Unit to support this activity.
• Provide technical support in the analysis of oil and gas properties and occasionally mid stream projects.
• Valuations will be used in making decisions involving debt, equity, and combinations of both.
• Critical auditing of independent third party evaluations, in all key areas of technical due diligence.
• Audit will include reserve estimates, volume forecasts, expenses, cost estimates and all other economic assumptions.
• Analysis of technical risks associated with the investment of the bank’s capital.
• Monitoring of physical performance through variance analysis of actual versus forecast and its potential effects on financial performance.
• Interface with clients and business leaders for market trends.
• Proactive identification of deterioration in client’s risk profile to protect Citi’s interest.
• Develop framework or standards for timely turnaround of client and business requests
• Knowledge of the production and drilling process with emphasis on reservoir engineering and economic valuation.
• Understanding of US reserve analysis methodologies and relationships between geographies.
• Experience reviewing complex geologies making sound judgments in a fluid environment.
• Conducted on site due diligence with third party consultants and clients.
• Knowledge of hydrocarbon reserve valuation and associated technical tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel or other word processing and spreadsheet packages.
• Proficient in third party software needed to perform required analysis.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Geological Engineering preferred.
• 10+ year’s of direct exploration and production of oil and gas industry or related experience, preferably with some years in a smaller E&P firm where a wider scope of the industry is gained.
• An MBA or formal Credit Training is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel or other word processing and spreadsheet packages.
• Proficient in third party software needed to perform required analysis.
• Strong technical skills with ability or keen interest in credit skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work on a team.
• Have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of the Energy Industry in multiple geographies.
• Attention to detail, analytical, and ability to work under short time constraints.
