We have an exciting, unique opportunity for an internship in our Research and Development Department located in Pearl River, NY. In this role you will interact with Capsugel’s Research and Development team. Become part of a talented team, building core R&D and business skills while gaining exposure to the dynamic pharmaceutical industry. This Internwill support on-going projects in alignment with the 2013 Pharmaceutical R&D objectives.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about his /her work, will enjoy working closely with other members of the organization to contribute to the success of Capsugel, will utilize technology resources productively, and will be able to work on a wide range of tasks.
2013 initiatives include, but are not limited to:
Assist with formulation prototype development for internally developed products in the health & nutrition and/or pharmaceutical categories
Be involved with the in-vitro testing of prototypes including HPLC, and dissolution
Contribute to the process development and scale-up of select technologies
Work on one special project (TBD) involving a capsule based drug delivery technology and submit a presentation/report at the end of the term.
Qualified candidates must have the following skills and attributes:
Must be a minimum of a rising junior studying fields: Pharmacy or Pharmaceutics, Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or a health-related field
A thinker with solid analytical skills, high-energy, and can-do attitude
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written and a strong command of the English language.
Ability to work independently and coordinate projects
Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities simultaneously and take responsibilities seriously
Excellent presentation and prioritization skills; some experience presenting to senior leaders (or professors)
High level of professionalism to interact with internal clients and external parties
Must have a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
Ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with confidential matters
Willingness to learn new skills
Strong attention to detail
Local candidates preferred (< 1 hour commute)
This is a paid 10 week internship. It is expected that the candidate would work full time beginning May 29th.
