Responsible for order verification, and the accurate dispensing of both inpatient and outpatient medication orders.
Additional responsibilities include the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for all patient care areas including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation for certain medications, implementing and monitoring protocols and procedures for therapeutic interchange, and formulary management. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist to supervise and approve the work done by the technician before dispensing.
The pharmacist is the first line supervisor of the supportive personnel in the day to day activities.
Patients of all ages are served.
Implements and abides by customer service standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree and/or Pharm. D. required.
