Under general supervision, performs regulatory duties to include, but not limited to, investigations and inspections of permitted facilities and/or licensees for the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy to ensure compliance with the South Carolina Pharmacy Practice Act and all Federal and State laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. Conducts routine, complex and sensitive investigations of reported violations of laws and regulations of the practice of pharmacy governing the licensees/permitees of the Pharmacy Board at the direction of the Administrator in coordination with the Chief Investigator for OIE. Conducts inspections of permitted facilities, new facilities and relocation of facilities and other actions to ensure compliance with the SC Pharmacy Practice Act and all state and federal statutes and regulations governing the proper management of legend drugs and the practice of pharmacy to include the compounding arena.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacology.
A bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacology and five (5) years of experience in regulatory, law enforcement and the practice of pharmacy, one of which must be the practice of pharmacy specializing in compounding with an emphasis on sterile and/or nuclear compounding. Must be a licensed pharmacist in SC and in good standing.
Travel throughout the state with overnight stays may be required. May require extended periods of driving and sitting and may require visiting private facilities that are non ADA compliant. May need to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs.
