The UMHC/Sylvester Comprehensive Center, Pharmacy Department, has an immediate opening for a Pharmacist. Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or her/his designee the Staff Pharmacist ensures the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications in conjunction with the prompt and accurate delivery of medications to patients. Physician orders and patient medication profiles are reviewed, processed and checked and drug therapies are monitored for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications. Drug information is provided to healthcare professionals and patients to assist in providing rational drug therapy.
The minimum requirements are as follows: Current/valid Florida Pharmacist license. PharmD is required; consideration will be given to all candidates who have been grandfathered by the state of Florida to keep their licenses active/current if obtained before the changes to the Pharmacists’ licenses (PharmD requirement) took place, this also includes candidates from other countries that have obtained a Florida license. One year of relevant pharmacy experience is required.
Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with all levels of UMHC/Sylvester staff, physicians and others.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.
