Position Summary:
Assist in the provision of quality care by assisting patients in receipt of prescriptions, applying for Patient Assistant Program (PAP) medication, assisting pharmacist in Spanish/English translation and processing of prescriptions in the pharmacy
 Give patients prescriptions that have been filled in the pharmacy
 Refer patient’s medication problems and questions to the pharmacist
 Assist with Spanish/English translation when necessary
 Answer the phone
 Explain PAP application process to patients
 Fill out, process and mail or fax PAP applications as required
 Process refill PAP applications on-line
 Advise patients to return with necessary documentation
 Maintain file of current patient PAP applications and documents
 Assist pharmacist in opening packages and checking in of medications
 Stock and clean shelves
 Performs clerical duties as assigned
 Learn and use pharmacy computer system
 Access Ochin system for patient information
 Transport medications from main site to other clinic sites whenever needed
 Organize time and promote team effort
 Adhere to HIPPA guidelines
 Attend trainings and/or in-services as instructed by supervisor
 Maintain and observe ergonomics safety precautions
 Other duties as assigned
Observes CMOAR policy/procedures regarding conduct in the work place:
 Observe regulations on time card use and reporting
 Display clearly visible identification
 Maintain attendance as per policy
 Maintain a clean and safe work area
 Maintain current CPR
 Maintain a current annual health screening.
 Maintain professionalism at all times in the pharmacy
 Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of clients with regard to personal records and program issues development
 Treat all employees, clients, neighborhood committee members with respect, dignity and in a courteous and professional manner in accordance to non-discriminatory policies and procedures and Union Agreement
 Conduct only work related conversations when clients are waiting for service.
 Do not discuss other staff members, policies, problems or medical care in public areas of clinic
 Observe general Safety/Employee Health policies and procedures including Fire regulations.
 High School graduate or equivalent
 Bi-lingual English/Spanish
 Typing at least 30 words per minute
 Basic computer skills
 Experience in a medical office setting preferred
 Mathematical skills: add; subtract; multiply and divide
 CPR certification
 Knowledge of pharmacy law, rules and regulations
 Knowledge of brand and generic drug names
 Knowledge of pharmacology and medical terminology and manufacturing procedures
 Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 15 pounds
 Performs repetitive motions including bending, twisting, stooping, pushing and pulling
 Flexible hours
 Willingness to travel
 Must have current driver’s license and vehicle insurance
