General Summary: Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Operations, organizes and directs the comprehensive pharmacy program within Holy Cross Hospital. Supervises Pharmacy Department personnel. The scope of the position includes assuring the delivery of quality patient care through implementation and maintenance of distributive and clinical programs; assuring effective supervision, staff development, appropriate staffing and promoting positive employee and guest relations; establishing and maintaining effective communication lines with Pharmacy and other departments including the medical staff and nursing services. The Pharmacy Operations Manager assists the pharmacist in technical duties under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Operations and supervises and guides the daily activities and job assignments of other pharmacy technicians. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable): Maryland Pharmacist Licensure Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. Shall have a minimum of three years in hospital pharmacy practice, including at least two (2) years in a manager or supervisor position . Able to speak, write and comprehend English. Shall be familiar with all phases of hospital pharmacy. A current member of The American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Demonstrate capability in establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative working relationships with Medical, Nursing and Professional staff. Demonstrate capability in efficiently and effectively managing human, material, capital and financial resources.

Working Conditions: Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds, capable of walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, able to bend forward and backward. Must have good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Must be able to physically operate the equipment used in the job. Must have auditory acuity. Must be able to work courteously, efficiently and accurately in a busy environment. Must work accurately with attention to detail within specified time frames.
