Responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the pharmaceutical care services for the hospital.
Prepares and processes medication under the supervision of a pharmacist, checks nursing units for proper medication storage, repackages and barcodes medications. Orders, stocks and transports pharmaceutical supplies according to pharmacy policy and procedure.
Considers unique patient needs and demonstrates age-specific competencies. Able to perform mathematical calculations necessary for compounding.
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Registration with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 45 days of employment and national technician certification within 9 months employment.
1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Sat/Sun every other weekend rotation. Weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed including coverage for Full time staff PTO.
