The Pharmacy Technician will assist with various tasks under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist. Assist in filling and dispensing prescriptions according to doctor's orders. Assist in data entry, billing and record keeping. Assist customers in answering general Pharmacy Department questions, performing cashier functions, and responding to phone orders and requests. Operate cash register. Respond to phone orders. Label all prescriptions properly and clearly. Perform basic prescription computer functions. Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise. Assist in handling of pharmaceutical returns. Assist in training of technicians and pharmacy clerks. Performs other tasks as directed by pharmacists or pharmacy manager.

Two years of pharmacy technician experience, preferred. Must have good oral and written communications skills for working with customers, employees, and vendors. Ability to fill and dispense pharmaceuticals accurately under tight deadlines. Ability to operate computers, cash registers, phones, insurance billing equipment, printers, and credit card equipment.

HOURS: Will work variable day and evening shifts, including rotating weekends.

Follow approved procedures for receiving, handling, culling, storing, rotating, pricing, and merchandising of product to ensure quality, accuracy, and freshness. Assist in controlling department expenses. Take action to control shrinkage and pilferage losses. Ensure favorable department image with customers through a clean, attractive, and friendly department. Cut, trim, wrap, display, and stock produce department merchandise. Maintain and submit required records and reports. Ensure compliance to company sanitation, safety, and security programs. Unload and transport merchandise to storage areas, production area, and sales floor. Ensure that shelves and cases are filled at all times. Control freshness by coding and rotating all products and remove out-of-code merchandise. Communicate temperature failure of cases and storage areas to Store Management. Maintain good housekeeping of work, display and storage areas. Make sure proper sanitation standards are followed. Observe all local, state, and federal health and weights and measures laws and regulations.

Must have excellent oral and written communications for working with customers, employees and vendors. Must be able to perform basic math computations. Must have dexterity of hands to enable the cutting and trimming of product. Must have visual and sensory ability to determine quality of product. Must be able to lift, carry, stoop, and push and pull in order to stock and merchandise product.
