The Philanthropy Services Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and implementation of RML’s special events auctions and logistics, development campaigns, and volunteer programming in coordination with the Philanthropy Services Manager. These efforts will focus on making special events special, making donors feel appreciated, and involving the entire hospital in the RML philanthropy experience.
The Philanthropy Services Coordinator will operate RML’s Grateful Patients & Families program and Patient and Family Needs Fund and successfully share the RML story via these core activities. The Coordinator will champion RML within the community and work to build successful collaborations with nonprofit organizations, community members, and local business. These efforts will focus on a coordination of services that are of value to our patients and their families and the community as a whole.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern and honor in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers, and as identified in departmental and hospital wide behavioral expectations.
Responsible for the implementation of RML’s special event auctions and event logistics.
Responsible for volunteer programming, including recruitment, orientation and training of volunteers.
Assist Philanthropy Services Manager in fundraising activities including special event fundraising, vendor solicitation, and RML’s workplace giving campaign. Position will have a fundraising goal.
Responsible for department administrative duties including but not limited to database management and confidential and accurate maintenance of donor records.
Create innovative and relevant opportunities for hospital staff and community members to engage with the hospital.
Establish the hospital as a resource in the community.
Train and inspire the next generation of leaders with the skills they will need to excel in their chosen fields via volunteerism.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & CHARACTERISTICS
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Outstanding interpersonal skills required.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with individuals of diverse interest and backgrounds.
Ability to work autonomously, in addition to working collaboratively with development department and volunteers.
Ability to prioritize, process and follow through on a systemic basis with extreme accuracy and attention to detail for multiple projects.
Knowledge of Donor Perfect or Auction Maestro Pro.
Knowledge & Experience
Two years experience in fund raising.
Two years experience in fundraising and volunteer management.
This position will be office based, working out of RML’s Chicago and Hinsdale campuses. Telecommuting is not available.
