A Phlebotomist is a health care worker who can perform a variety of preanalytical tasks in the laboratory under direct supervision. Grow in proficiency in collection and processing of all laboratory specimens. Grow in proficiency in necessary computer systems and in department record keeping.
High school diploma or GED plus completion of accredited phlebotomy program at the technical school level.
Other Requirements: Phlebotomy certification recognized by GD DHR. Grow in proficiency of all kinds of specimen collection, adults and pediatric patients. Grow into working knowledge of laboratory information system (PathNet) computer system. BLS / CPR Required
Prefer Certified Candidate, but may consider uncertified candidate who will become certified within 6 mos of hire
