The focus of the Photography Assistant position is to assist the photo team on set in order to meet quality and quantity standards as well as continuously move the workflow forward. This position will also assist with lighting, set construction, set striking, and cleaning/organizing the studio.

Job Responsibilities

  • Aid Photographers and Sr. Photographers with their production
    needs such as organizing props and materials, laying floors, and
    setting up lighting and cameras for multiple sets.

  • Attend weekly departmental meetings.

  • Compile and coordinate return of merchandise already

  • Drop off and pick up film.

  • Handle the pick up and return of rental equipment.

  • Photograph less complex images.

  • Rip sets upon request.

  • Provides intermediate support to all levels within photography

  • Assists and supports all levels of Photographers with photo
    shoot production needs pre and post shoot (laying floors, obtaining
    necessary equipment, organizing props).

  • Unpacks, set-up and re-packs merchandise for Merchandise

  • Receives direction from all levels of photographers related to
    lighting set up and setting up cameras for multiple sets.

  • Photograph non-complex images.

  • Under direct supervision or within defined parameters, ensures
    timely and accurate performance of responsibilities for a single
    product, functional area or work group, with work typically reviewed
    by others.

  • Decisions typically involve prioritizing basic tasks.

  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex
    issues to higher levels.

  • Follows specific, detailed instructions and applies
    understanding of basic technical principles and concepts.

  • Assists others willingly when asked.

  • Is flexible and open to suggestion seeks learning opportunities
    within a single product line or job function.

  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • High School Diploma.

  • Incumbents typically have 1-3 years experience working in a
    photographic environment.

  • Ability to set up and shoot accessories on tabletop tent and
    mannequins. Familiarity with shooting apparel on live models and some
    styling, a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of lighting and composition including aperture
    settings, depth of field, shutter speeds and working with

  • Superb eye for visual composition and attention to detail.
