Reports to Digital Assets Management Administrator and WCS Staff Photographer
Schedule Approximately 16-20 hours a week, flexible schedule within business hours
The Wildlife Conservation Society's Photo Collection consists of an extensive digital image collection and an equally vast historical photograph collection.
The intern will help organize photo assets by researching, adding, and updating metadata. The intern will also be expected to assist in various day-to-day responsibilities around the office, including responding to reference requests, as assigned.
Based on the interests and skills of the applicant, there will be an opportunity to learn the basics Content Management Systems and/or preservation of historical photographic materials as well as assist at some photo assignments with staff photographer.
' Organizing digital photographs and adding basic metadata and other details to image files
' Processing and researching historical photographs, negatives, and slides
' Scanning as assigned
' Credit letter (if applicable)

' Valuable hands-on training in digital asset management environments
' Working with 117 years of archival and current images of the Wildlife Conservation Society
' Current college student or recent graduate
' Applicants must be flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks
' Be able to commit approximately 16-20 hours a week to this internship
