The purpose of this position is to inventory and issues materials and supplies to all departments, and to manage all assets. This is accomplished by using inventory and purchasing software programs, monitoring inventory, ensuring proper storage and access, researching and evaluating suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining warehouse disciplines, and communicating with departments. Other duties include attending special programs and events, maintaining tool inventories, and assisting during inclement weather incidents.

Manages inventory by monitoring inventory levels, evaluating product trends, monitoring slow moving or obsolete products or equipment, reviewing inventory for proper stocking, ensuring policies are followed, and analyzing inventory levels.
Completes purchases by supervising and managing the procurement process, ensuring all contracts are recorded, evaluating vendors and pricing, ensuring compliance with standards, retrieving purchasing information, completing inventory counts and resolving variances.
Evaluates warehousing by evaluating physical facilities, establishing proper warehouse locations, overseeing auctions, monitoring central receiving operations and maintaining individual tool lists.
Supervises operations by enforcing programs and operational procedures, safeguarding warehouse operations, establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols, resolving issues, ensuring reports are complete and accurate, and updating knowledge of current trends.

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
Over one year up to and including three years.
Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or department including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. A first line supervisor typically performs these functions.
Work may require providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas.
Receives Direction: The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed upon completion.
Skilled: Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.
Does not have any budget responsibility.
Intermediate - Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Intermediate - Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
