About Us: Command Consulting Group is a Washington, DC-based consulting firm offering a diverse range of services and supporting a broad base of clients in the homeland and national security arena. Command Consulting Group (CCG) is seeking an experienced security professional to support our growing Security Advisory Services (SAS) business line. The Physical Security Specialist will play a role in a range of SAS functions, to include servicing current clients and projects, as well as periodic business development support. The Specialist ’s primary responsibility will be a nationwide project performing physical security assessments and emergency action policies " procedures on approximately 75 client sites over the next year.

This is an intermediate level position equivalent to GS 10/11. The position will be responsible for writing, editing, and compiling reports and other deliverables related to these assessments. The ideal candidate will possess significant work experience in law enforcement, military service or other security and emergency action related fields of employment (senior enlisted, or junior to mid-level officer). Candidates must possess excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills; project management experience or training is preferred.

Duties Related to the Specialist ’s Primary Project will include but not be limited to: • Travel to client sites to perform and document full-scope security assessments via walkthroughs, observation, and interviews of multiple client and non-client personnel (length of avg.

site visit will be 1-2 days). • Write and edit detailed site assessment reports; work closely with CCG Washington, DC based staff to produce final deliverables and implement quality control processes. • Liaison with CCG accounting department and work within an established budget framework to meet the client ’s requirements in a timely, cost-effective fashion. Attention to detail required in accurately reporting trip and project costs, including booking of applicable travel arrangements.

  • Liaison with other third-party contractors and CCG partners in performance of the project. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required and candidate evaluating factors: • Willingness to travel approximately 2 weeks per month, including to both client sites and CCG Headquarters in Washington, DC. • Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices to independently make decisions and recommendations and manage program areas. • Current knowledge of security systems (access control, alarms, surveillance cameras, etc.) technology, developments, and application; and usage of physical security aids and equipment.
  • Significant career experience in law enforcement, military service, or security / emergency-action related fields. • Excellent research, quantitative and analytical skills. • Excellent writing and communication skills. • Ability to plan ahead, prioritize and organize.
  • Availability and willingness to work long hours on occasion. • Experience performing projects / tasks independently with minimal supervision. • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, and Office Suite. • Team player and experience working under tight deadlines.
