DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Seasoned Clinic Director with strong management skills to join our Clinic in Downtown Spartanburg, SC.

Job Summary:
Clinic leadership/management that promotes all Proaxis Therapy clinics and programs through staff development, supervision of patient care, promotion of hospital and physician relationships, program development, and management of daily operations as well as long term strategic planning.

DUTIES

I. Team Accountability

A. Staffing
i. Budget for staffing needs according to patient volumes with the expectation of maintaining staff at or above 82% productivity.
ii. Approve monthly staff schedule set by managers to accommodate staffing needs with weekly/daily adjustments made as needed.
iii. Approve PTO for Team Leaders, Clinic Managers, Staff Therapist and additional staff roles based on clinic need, staffing appropriately for physician coverage. Final approval on extended leave and leave of absence in coordination with Regional President and HR.
iv. Accountable for achieving clinic monthly budget target (bottom line)
v. Management time scheduled as needed to meet needs of employees, physicians, and clinic.
vi. Ensure staff have the tools available to use the best time management strategies (notes, personal management plans, treatment plans)

B. Hiring/Orientation/Mentorship/Residency
i. Coordinates the hiring, training, and mentoring of new staff members.
1. Incorporates Team Leaders, HR, staff and SC Regional President as appropriate into the hiring process.
ii. Orientation
1. Coordinates with Team Leaders Director of Quality and HR for new employee orientation as outlined in the new employee orientation binder.
iii. Mentorship
1. Aligns with Director of Quality, and Team Leaders to ensure staff are oriented and mentored in an appropriate manner and timeframe.
iv. Residency
1. Aligns with Residency Director, Director of Quality, and Regional President to ensure residents are being provided with tools, education, and mentorship outlined in the SCS Residency program.
2. Coordinates with Residency Director, Director of Quality, HR and Regional President to interview and accept residency candidates.
3. Provides Residency Director (in conjunction with Regional President) with the tools to maintain APTA standards for the residency, advance the residency program, and establish national residency reputation.

C. Physician Relations
i. Ensures Team Leads, staff, and self have regular physician contact / positive interaction.
ii. Ensures Team Leads, staff, and self provide current protocol development / maintenance.
iii. Ensure current and new staff have met and interacted with MD.

D. Hospital relations
i. Attends and participates in relevant hospital committee meetings
ii. Oversees and ensures Joint Commission compliance
iii. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all hospital and ancillary departments relevant to PT/OT.
1. Steadman-Hawkins: Physicians, Nurses, PAC's, ATC's, support staff.
2. Occupational Health.

E. Performance Improvement and Disciplinary action
i. Develop performance improvement plan for staff members
ii. Follow up with staff to ensure performance improvement plan is being followed.
iii. Conflict Resolution

F. Quality / Operations
i. Ensures documentation, chart audits, and discharge summaries are kept up to date and accurate for all clinicians
ii. Accountability to all Proaxis Therapy and GHS policies and procedures including orientation, ABN's, and acquiring accurate and current prescriptions.
iii. Ensure patient satisfaction by promoting C2C program and patient satisfaction surveys.
iv. Manage clinic performance indicators: Productivity, collections/pt, CPT's/pt, patient wait time, clinician availability, co-pay collection %, etc.
v. Promote research efforts to an appropriate level within the clinical structure. Utilizes the resources available to maximize employee involvement in research and evidenced based practice.
vi. Key performance indicators
1. Align with Director of Quality to ensure outcome measures are performed correctly
2. Align with Director of Quality to ensure Joint Commission standards are met.

G. Staff Meetings
i. Coordinate clinic/personal staff meetings and monthly all staff meetings.
ii. Presents an organized agenda and send to Regional President.
1. Covers relevant, up to date material in a timely manner.
iii. Attend and participate in ALL clinic staff and requested leadership meetings.
1. Present updates for clinic-specific responsibilities
2. Weekly directors meeting
3. Submits monthly management plan to Regional President
4. Receives and reviews clinic manager monthly plans.

H. Staff reviews
i. Perform staff reviews in a timely fashion.
ii. Give performance feedback as needed during interim times when reviews are not occurring.

II. Initiative / Problem Solving

A. Resolve clinical issues and pro-actively seek processes to improve clinical performance with the assistance of the Regional President and VPA as needed.

B. Adjusting staff and patient schedules to accommodate for high priority needs.

III. Display Integrity within the clinic
A. Lead by example
B. Maintain professionalism at all times
C. Seek appropriate channels for problem resolution

IV. Expertise
A. Preferred to maintain an advanced level of clinical knowledge in orthopedics and sports medicine to include an OCS, SCS, or CHT and excellence of patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an approved school of occupational/physical therapy.

Licensure: Be able to obtain a current physical therapy license in the State of South Carolina

Other Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable positive interactions with patients/families, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care which is age specific/appropriate for patients served
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic computer knowledge
