VNSNY’s Rehabilitation Services department is made up of more than 520 physical, occupational and speech language therapists. Our skilled rehabilitation therapists work with patients, families and caregivers to improve and/or rebuild speech, movement and memory. They focus on promoting independence in activities of daily living and on optimizing functional abilities. Responsibilities Responsible for providing physical therapy to VNSNY home care patients through comprehensive assessment. Develops and implements a plan of care consistent with the Agencys goals and Rehabilitation department policies and procedures. Works under general supervision. Qualifications Licensure: New York State License and current registration in Physical Therapy required. Valid driver's license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs.Education: Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree or entry level Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from a program approved by the New York State Department of Education required.Experience: Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs. Minimum of one year physical therapy experience or successful completion of the probationary period as a VNS Rehab Intern preferred. Basic PC skills preferred.
