To provide professional assessment and treatment to patients, under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, utilizing established hospital and department policies and procedures for Physical Therapy. To assume responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by the Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides or student externs. To assume the duties and responsibilities of the Director or Senior Physical Therapist in the absence of those individuals. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team, including physicians, to deliver quality health care in both the Inpatient and Outpatient care settings.

  • Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas with permanent licensure obtained within one (1) year of issuance of temporary license
  • Timely competition of continuing education courses required to renew licensure as required by the State Board of Physical therapy Examiners
Preferred minimum of two (2) years clinical experience

  • Demonstrates proficiency in technical skills relating to patient care and equipment use
  • Demonstrates proficiency in supervisory skills of patients and staff
  • Demonstrates proficiency in documentation skills according to hospital and department guidelines, as well as meeting governmental/JCAHO
  • Demonstrates proficiency in time management skills
  • Maintains up-to-date skills checklist/ongoing assessment of skills
  • Maintains educational record of mandatory inservices and continuing education according to hospital educational policies and procedures
Status : Full-time
Education : Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy with a Baccalaureate or Masters degree in Physical Therapy
CPR Certification (may complete upon hire)
