Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting a supervising physician’s data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Work is performed under general supervision of a physician. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician.
In this position, the Physician Assistant will see pediatric patients in both the inpatient clinical setting and in our outpatient clinical setting along side House Staff. The position will perform duties under the direct supervision of the Chair of the Department, along with supervision from the Department Faculty. In this position, one will be actively involved in the educational setting as a supplement to the teaching program and will work along side both Residents and Faculty. One will be involved in teaching residents, medical students and physician assistants.
Graduation from a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association or a person who has passed the examinations given by the National Commission on the certification of Physician Assistants. Knowledge of Medical Terminology; ability to communicate effectively; general medical knowledge and skills necessary to assist supervising physician.
Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
