The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct patient care in the clinical setting in collaboration with the primary supervising physician to all patient populations served by Preventive Health Service, including Adult Health, Child Health, Maternal Health, Women’s Health Services, Communicable Disease and STIs. The Chatham County Public Health Department provides clinical services Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is a 75% (30 hour/week) position.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a Physician Assistant program approved by the N.C. Board of Medical Examiners and "approved to practice medical acts" based on education and experience by the Board of Medical Examiners, and preferably one year of experience as an extender; or graduation from an accredited Surgeon's Assistant Program of at least 24 months duration and "approved to practice medical acts" based on education and experience by the Board of Medical Examiners; or licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Board of Nursing, graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the N. C. Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners, and "approved to practice medical acts" based on education and experience by the Joint Subcommittee, and preferably one year of experience as an extender; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Also prefer fluency in English and Spanish.
Salary Range: Negotiable, based on qualifications.
