This position is for the Piedmont Heart Institute Float Pool team. This position will float to the different Piedmont Heart Institute practices in north, south, east, and west areas in and outside the Atlanta Metro area.
Preference may be given to candidates who possess a Medical Assistant Certification from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); or a similarly recognized certifying organization. As a condition of employment, candidates must become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
Applicants must obtain a basic Cardiac Life Support Certification within the first 3 months of employment and possess average data entry skills.
Under direct supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse, performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical activities in accordance with established standards and practice of Piedmont Heart Institute. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and/or back office functions. Back office duties may include, but are not limited to Medical Assistant, Laboratory Assist, Medical Records Clerk, x-ray, and telephone answering functions. Employees assigned to this position must be flexible and willing to work in the areas assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and two years previous experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinic; or completion of a Nursing Assistant program and two years previous experience as a patient care assistant, preferably a primary care setting; or High School diploma or general education (GED) and three years primary care experience. Some applicants may be required to possess a radiological safety certificate.
