The Coordinator of Physician Practice Operations Improvement provides analysis and direction for multiple physician practices in the identification of improvement opportunities throughout the physician revenue cycle and the planning and coordination of all clinical and business activities in order to fulfill its operational and financial objectives. Responsibilities include monitoring all facets of the physician revenue cycle, gaining consensus around improvement opportunities in each practice, planning for the execution of the improvement initiatives, organizing the resources to ensure successful implementation, and working with the external billing vendor where applicable. The coordinator ensures that revenue cycle processes adhere to established policies and procedures.
Required: Bachelor's Degree, but will consider Associate's degree with additional medical billing and or practice management certification with at least 5 years prior experience in healthcare with physician practice experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting.
Minimum of five years business management preferably in a healthcare setting/clinical practice management.
Experience managing multiple projects and staff in fast paced, complex environment
Knowledge and experience in coding in a multi-practice environment.
Demonstrable working knowledge of office applications (i.e.: word, excel, e-mail) required.
Excellent communication, presentation and process flow skills
Ability to collect analyze, and apply data and other pertinent information to develop short and long term practice goals and budget needs
Preferred: . Practice management experience in a healthcare network with responsibility and oversight for multiple practice locations.

Department Position Summary:
Works with and advises the Practice Manager at assigned practices
Acts as liaison between physician practices, the physician practice revenue cycle and hospital administration
Ensures providers at assigned practices understand their obligations pertaining to the physician revenue cycle:
As specified by their contracts with hospital
In Compliance with Hospital Policies, procedures, The Joint Commission, HIPPA and OIG Compliance
Supports the strategic and financial goals and imperatives of hospital
Supports Clinical and Office staff in creating an environment conducive to excellence in the revenue cycle
Facilitates regular physician practice management forums
Responsible for the financial viability of the physician practices as assigned, including, but not limited to:
Monitoring progress against budget
Following billing performance by monitoring collections and accounts receivable. Identify trends in denials and other potential issues and communicate these issues to hospital administration, practice management and the physicians in the practices assigned
Analyze statistical and financial data for each practice to develop and recommend operational changes required to maximize effectiveness and efficiency without jeopardizing quality of patient care. Identify innovative ways to improve the financial performance (bottom line) of each practice.
Planning and implementing revenue cycle improvement initiatives
Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance ratios against which the performance of each practice can be measured; analyze practice performance to community and national benchmarking standards (i.e.: MGMA and others) to ensure long term success.
Build, retain, and strengthen relationships with physicians and managers in each practice.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all physicians and managers
Exercise appropriate influence with physicians, managers, and staff to resolve any medical-administrative problems, maintain open lines of communication, persuade and negotiate changes required to maximize performance and productivity of each practice, including administering applicable coding requirements.
Ensure understanding and consistent implementation of the hospitals strategic plan, goals and objectives.
Promote teamwork among all physicians, staff and billing vendor
Identify own learning needs and obtain necessary education to meet requirements of position.
Work collaboratively with other Directors and hospital Departments to meet institutional goals.
