Responsible for the administration, direction and coordination of all physician practice activities except those directly involving professional medical judgment. Responsible for continuous review of all factors affecting the cost and profitability of the Practices. Monitors statistics and provides reports on items such as number of patients seen, growth or decline patterns, profitability, expenses relative to costs, etc. Take necessary corrective action to keep items in line with the objectives. Serve as the liaison and primary channel of communication between the Hospital and the Practices. Manages and is knowledgeable of the collections and billing methods including handling of and reporting of cash and other payments. Develops, implements, reviews and revises policies and procedures for offices ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, as well as accrediting and regulatory bodies. Establishes, communicates and directs the standards of work performance and methods of operation for the offices within the overall guidelines of hospital policies. Involved with practice staffing; develops, recommends and maintains a schedule supporting a sufficient number of staff to provide quality care and services. |
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum of three years work related experience required as well as a strong knowledge of physician practice billing, collections, coding, as well as overall knowledge of accounting, human resources, patient service delivery, etc. Must have great communication and leadership skills as well as the ability to handle issues effectively and efficiently in a timely manner.
